Who We Are

OpenDoor is a team effort

OpenDoor’s vision is to create an online meeting place where local communities can gather and share their combined talents. We at OpenDoor are proud to be offering you our unique social media platform dedicated to serving the needs of local communities.

Growing a Community

How OpenDoor evolves will be determined by the involvement and the action of its members. This is your gathering place and what happens here is up to you, individually and collectively. We have created an open interactive platform designed to encourage interaction and allow for individual expression. The level of individual involvement and engagement doesn’t matter…. we all have a role to play.

Individuality is the heart beat of a strong community. When you support your community, your community in turn supports you. It is a self sustaining and self fulfilling eco system. Community is an ecology of trust built upon the premise that the more you give, the more you receive.

Building Relationships and Building Trust

OpenDoor has many benefits to offer; here you have the opportunity to establish new friendships and feel a sense of belonging to something bigger than you might have imagined. Here you can also gain valuable information about all the talented members who make up the Flathead community. You can join critiques and classes, share information, and expand your horizon. Community is about friendship and sharing; it is about supporting and being supported.

Personal Growth, Sustainable Living, and Wellness

OpenDoor is Flathead Valley’s new online Resource Directory focused primarily
on these three themes:

Personal Growth

  • Personal Growth is the endeavors we engage in with the intention to improve our awareness, and develop our talents and potential, with the goal of enhancing the quality of our life and contributing to the fulfillment of our dreams and aspirations. In the quest for personal growth there is no single formula that defines the path to personal fulfillment. We each have different goals and priorities, resulting in different activities and attitudes which make us feel good about ourselves. Ultimately it is a life long journey of self discovery and self fulfillment. Building meaningful relationships and building community are also crucial to our personal growth. Who are we if not the sum of our relationships?

Sustainability

  • Sustainable Living for humans can be defined as the responsible stewardship of resource including food, energy, architecture, and transportation. It is a long-term responsibility, with environmental, economic and social dimensions. In ecology, sustainability describes how biological systems remain diverse and productive over time, which is essential for the well-being of humans and all other organisms. A healthy ecosystem provides vital resources and the long term stability necessary for a healthy environment.

Wellness

  • Wellness is a positive approach to living – an approach that emphasizes the whole person. It is the integration of the body, mind and spirit; the appreciation that everything you do, think, feel and believe has an impact on your state of health. Wellness is not the mere absence of disease. It is a proactive, preventive approach designed to achieve optimum levels of physical, emotional and social health. Wellness can also be defined as an active process through which you become aware of and make choices toward a more successful life. A wellness-oriented lifestyle encourages you to adopt habits and behaviors that promote better health and an improved quality of life. It also involves the recognition that you have physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs, with each dimension being necessary for optimal levels of functioning.
